Yamazaki 18 Year is a highly collectible single malt whiskey which has been aged eighteen years. It spends 80% of its time maturing in Sherry casks instead of white oak like the twelve year, which imparts a richer and more complex tasting profile. The nose on this one is bright with bursts of zesty citrus peel, mingled with a hint of Sherry. On the palate awakens you with bold notes of oak, orchard fruits, and wood resin. The finish is luxurious with subtle hints of florals, and lingering notes of sherried dried peels.  

History
Yamazaki 18 Year is a single malt whisky which is produced at the Yamazaki Distillery in Japan. The Yamazaki Distillery was established in 1923 as the first commercial whisky distillery. It is owned by Suntory whose founder Shinjiro Torii was inspired by Scottish whisky and set out to create his own Japanese inspired in different terrain and climate conditions. Suntory is now a world famous brand which is known for producing quality, technique, and sophistication.
