The sultry, smokey sweetness of these artisanal mezcal is reached after days of slow roasting agave hearts underground. The pinas are crushed a store molino, then naturally fermented in wooden vats, and finally, double distilled using a copper pot still. The nose on this one is bold with smokey aromas, leading you into a smooth and flavorful ,mouthful of agave mingled with light citrus. The finish is warm and lengthy with spiced undertones.
History
Los Vecinos del Campo Ensamble No. 1 Mezcal Artesanal is distilled from the agave plant. Tequila is a mezcal, but tequila producers remove the agave solids before they distill. Tequila distillers put just the fermented juice into their stills, but artisan mezcal distillers include the fermented agave solids, so that well-made artisan mezcals from Oaxaca are richer and more complex than tequila. The agave used to make this premium mezcal were roasted in an underground ovens, then the pineapples are crushed, and fermented, before being distilled and bottled in this unique bottle.
