Absinthe Ordinaire is traditionally crafted absinthe using natural botanicals, including wormwood, anise, and fennel. It was created by Dr. Pierre Ordinaire in 1792 in rural France as an all-purpose cure-all, often referred to as an “elixir.” Over time, it became widely accepted as a recreational drink, with people drawn to its unique taste and the effects it produced. Some even claimed to be cured of various ailments after consumption. After Dr. Ordinaire's death, the recipe passed to the sisters Henriod, who continued to produce this elixir primarily from their home. Its popularity soared, leading to mass production, making Absinthe Ordinaire a staple in the world of spirits.
