History
Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch 8 Year was released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Lagavulin distillery by John Johnston in 1816. This eight-year-old expression captures the essence of Islay with its big, smoky character that is beautifully complemented by sweet spices, becoming more pronounced with a drop of water. The distillery has a rich heritage, and this release was inspired by the visit of Alfred Barnard in the 1880s, who described an 'exceptionally fine' eight-year-old from Lagavulin. This bottling serves as a fitting tribute to the milestone, representing both tradition and craftsmanship that have defined Lagavulin for two centuries.
