Taste
E.H. Taylor Single Barrel Bourbon is a remarkable expression within the E.H. Taylor lineup, meticulously crafted at the esteemed Buffalo Trace Distillery. Produced from the revered Mash Bill #1, this bourbon shares its lineage with other exceptional offerings like Eagle Rare and George T. Stagg. The palate is greeted with rich notes of lightly toasted oak and the delightful sweetness of dried figs, complemented by hints of butterscotch that create a harmonious balance. Its warm finish lingers with subtle traces of tobacco and dark spices, making it a truly memorable experience for bourbon enthusiasts.

History
E.H. Taylor Single Barrel Bourbon is a limited edition bourbon that has been produced using one of E.H. Taylor's unique methods. This exclusive bourbon is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfort, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. He began renovating and modernizing the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique, columnar stills. During his time there, Taylor implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled Rick houses. At a time when other distilleries were adding juices and syrups to sweeten their bourbon, Taylor relied on his distilling knowledge and political connections, partnering with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle to effect change in the industry. In 1897, they successfully passed the Bottled-In-Bond Act, ensuring that any spirit labeled as "Bonded" or "Bottled-in-Bond" must be the product of only one distiller, one distillery, during one distillation season. The Act mandated that bonded spirits be supervised by the U.S. government for at least four years and bottled at a minimum of 100 proof in federally bonded warehouses. This fine bourbon is crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at more than 125 proof, representing the authentic production methods of bourbon before Prohibition, during the ownership of Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. at Buffalo Trace Distillery.
