History
Dingle Original Pot Still Gin 700ml is a premium handcrafted gin made in the picturesque town of Dingle, Ireland. It is produced in the country’s first artisan distillery, located at the westernmost point of Europe, attracting many visitors eager to experience its unique offerings. Established in 2012, this distillery transformed an old sawmill into a hub of traditional distilling combined with modern techniques suitable for small batch production. The distillery's location benefits from the region's humid climate and refreshing gulf stream breezes, which enhance the distillation process. Restaurateur Oliver Hughes, with Master Distiller John McDougall, implemented traditional pot stills named Oisin to create distinctive small batch spirits, including gin. Crafted in limited quantities of just 500 liters, Dingle gin incorporates locally sourced botanicals, aiming to capture the essence of Ireland's west coast. After a meticulous 24-hour maceration, the spirit undergoes distillation through a custom-designed pot still, enriching its flavor profile with a secondary infusion of botanicals. Finally, it is charcoal filtered and blended with pristine water sourced from a well deep beneath the distillery, before being hand bottled to preserve its exceptional quality.
