Jagermeister Herbal Liqueur was produced in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, in 1934. Wilhelm Mast was a German wine merchant and vinegar maker from Wolfenbüttel, passionate about making unique and delicious spirits. Curt Mast, his son, was an enthusiastic hunter and shared his father's enthusiasm. Drawing inspiration from the region's abundant herbal traditions and his own hunting experiences, Curt created a recipe for an herbal liqueur he called "Jägermeister," which means "Master Hunter" or "Hunt Master" in German. It is an herbal liqueur produced with 56 different herbs, fruits, roots, and spices. Sweet with dense licorice flavors. Considered to be a digestif spirit throughout the world, as it is 50 high in bitter compounds.
