WhistlePig The Boss Hog Edition 6 is known as Edition Number 6 in "The Boss Hog Series" of Whiskeys produced in Vermont to commemorate the Harvest of the Whistle pig. This Special Edition Whisky is produced with a mash bill of corn malted barely and extra rye to impart a spicier tone all through out the whiskey. This limited edition whisky has aromas of pipe tobacco, ginger, and savory umami. On the palate, you'll notice baking spice, char, and oak. The finish lingers, with a touch of smoke.
WhistlePig The Boss Hog Edition 6 is the six edition of a collaboration between WhistlePig and Kitaya brewery on Japan’s Kyushu island. It is part of the highly sought after WhistlePig. It is the first American Rye Whiskey to be finished using Japanese Umeshu. It was produced in Shoreham, Vermont at a 500 acre farm which is not opened to the public. Whistlepig has continued to grow in popularity due to its longer aging process and premium packaging. This old whisky is Hand Bottled in Vermont, and topped with a collectible stopper of a chiseled pig handcrafted by Danforth Pewter Works. This well aged Straight Rye Whiskey was created using koji fermentation. Each bottle is adorned with The Samurai Scientist Jōkichi Takamine who pioneered koji.
