History
The Macallan Edition No. 6 is a premium Scotch whisky matured at The Macallan distillery, which has a rich heritage dating back to its establishment in 1824. Nestled on a ridge above the River Spey, the Easter Elchies House has served as the spiritual home of The Macallan for over three centuries. The distillery began when Alexander Reid, in 1820, cultivated barley in the surrounding fields and created the first licensed distillery on the estate. Named after a historic church, the distillery has continued to thrive, producing exceptional whisky characterized by its heavy, oily flavor and rich character. Today, it remains dedicated to traditional methods while embracing innovation.
