This 80 proof whiskey consists of an entirely new mashbill, replacing the traditional rye grain with brown rice, which adds a hint of sweetness and a touch less spice with increased depth of flavor that comes from secondary aging in a toasted then flash-charred oak barrels. The result is a bourbon with less spice, and deepened notes of sweet caramel with a bright, light mouthfeel. It’s more subtle, more interesting, and ultimately way more approachable, which is exactly what Basil is all about.
