Taste
E.H. Taylor Barrel-Aged Big Foot Bourbon is a remarkable creation among the E.H. Taylor offerings, showcasing a unique blend of flavors. This captivating barely wine, an Ale aged in bourbon barrels for seven years, is crafted at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery, known for exceptional blends like Eagle Rare and George T. Stagg. The collaboration with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company results in one of the highest ABV beers from the E.H. Taylor label. On the nose, it delivers enticing notes of molasses, while the palate reveals a rich tapestry of savory caramel, mingled with dark fruits and sweet molasses. The warm finish lingers, leaving behind delightful hints of burnt sugar that make each sip memorable.

History
E.H. Taylor Barrel-Aged Big Foot Bourbon is a limited edition hand-selected Kentucky bourbon barrel used to finish a 7-year vintage of Bigfoot Barley wine. It is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. There, he began renovating and modernizing the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. Taylor implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled Rick houses, setting a standard that would influence the industry. Other distilleries were adding juices and syrups to sweeten their bourbon, while others introduced acids and tobaccos. Instead, E.H. Taylor used his distilling experience and political connections to partner with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle. They were instrumental in passing the Bottled-In-Bond Act in 1897, ensuring the quality and authenticity of spirits. This fine bourbon, crafted from hand-selected barrels, is bottled directly from the barrel at more than 125 proof, representing the traditional methods of bourbon production before Prohibition, during the era when Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. owned Buffalo Trace Distillery.
