Elijah Craig 21 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon is part of a series of bourbons named after the reverend Elijah Craig, a pioneering figure in American distilling. Known as "The father of bourbon," Craig was a master distiller, baptist preacher, entrepreneur, and educator. In 1789, an accidental fire charred some barrels, significantly enhancing the flavor of the whiskey. Recognizing the potential of this fortuitous mistake, Craig refined the process of barrel charring, laying the foundation for the bourbon we cherish today. This exceptional spirit is carefully crafted from a single barrel, aged for twenty-one years, and is a prized possession for bourbon enthusiasts. Bottled at the renowned Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, which remains family-owned by the Shapira Family, it is part of a legacy that includes other celebrated brands like Henry McKenna and Evan Williams.
