Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Whiskey was founded in 1866 when Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel established his distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, making it one of the oldest registered distilleries in the United States. Jack, who learned the art of whiskey-making from a local preacher, developed a unique charcoal mellowing process known as the Lincoln County Process, which is still used today. Over the years, the brand gained popularity for its smooth flavor and distinctive square bottles, marked by a black label bearing the iconic Old No. 7 designation.
