History
Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila was the first bottle of tequila commercially sold named their Vino Mezcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo, in 1795. The distillery is located in the town of Tequila, and as you can see from the name it was described back then as a mezcal wine from Tequila.
