This unique spirits name 1738 Royale commemorates the year in which King Louis XV of France granted Monsieur Rémy Martin permission to plant a new vineyard in 1738. This was a big event during this time period because it was strictly forbidden at the time, therefore it was a great honor and privilege. The vineyard started producing Eaux-de-vie 14 years later. All Eaux de vie ages in new and neutral French oak barrels, per the Cognac production regulations.
