Taste
Experience the exquisite power and richness of Teusner Shiraz The Righteous Series Barossa Valley. This flagship Shiraz is a bold and opulent expression of old-vine Barossa fruit. The palate is deeply concentrated with luscious flavors of blackberry, dark plum, and black cherry, beautifully wrapped in complex layers of dark chocolate, espresso, and sweet spice. Well-integrated oak adds notes of vanilla, cedar, and a hint of smoky complexity. Supported by fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity, this full-bodied wine maintains remarkable finesse, leading to a long, structured finish with lingering echoes of licorice and black pepper. This powerful red is an ideal match for rich, slow-cooked meats, roast lamb, or aged cheeses.
History
The story of Teusner Wines and the Righteous Series began in a classic Barossa fashion: with a conversation in a pub in 2001. Winemaker Kym Teusner and his then brother-in-law, Mick Page, overheard a discussion about removing 85-year-old Grenache vines. Recognizing the value of this living history, they struck a deal to save the vines, which became the foundation of their winemaking philosophy. Teusner is dedicated to preserving the Barossa's heritage of dry-grown, ancient vines. The Righteous Series—often noted by the "FG" (First Growth) on the label—is crafted only in exceptional vintages from the most prized, low-yielding parcels of fruit, embodying the winery's commitment to structure, character, and the pure, concentrated essence of the Barossa Valley's unique terroir.
