Taste
E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon is a remarkable expression crafted by the renowned E.H. Taylor, still produced at the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery. This exceptional bourbon, made from Mash Bill #1, shares its pedigree with other esteemed blends like Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace. The sour mash combines corn, rye, and malted barley, resulting in a smoother profile with prominent sweet vanilla and toasted oak notes. On the palate, it reveals rich toffee flavors intertwined with subtle hints of figs, culminating in a complex finish with lingering oak undertones that invite you back for more.

History
E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon is a limited edition bourbon that has been cured in oak barrels for thirteen months. It is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. There, he began renovating and modernizing the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. Taylor implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled rickhouses, setting a standard that distinguished his bourbon from others that relied on additives. His partnership with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle was pivotal in passing the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897, ensuring strict regulations for quality and authenticity in bourbon production. This fine bourbon, crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at over 125 proof, captures the essence of traditional bourbon-making before Prohibition, reflecting the legacy of Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. as a pioneer in the industry.
